Four members of the Mile Two Crew recently received promotions. Please join us in celebrating their accomplishments!
Paul Latif was promoted from Project Lead to Project Manager. Paul joined us at Mile Two on June 22, 2020, after retiring from 22 years of service in the U.S. Air Force.
“Paul has helped our teams to gain traction on projects and push them to completion while maintaining and improving customer satisfaction. He is eager and driven to perform at the highest level and encourages and supports others to do the same… Paul’s tenacious approach to removing obstacles and keeping pace balances with his people-first approach to coaching and mentoring. We’re looking forward to the road ahead!”
“I definitely want to dive into the technical side of projects. As project leads and managers, our focus is on our people, our budget etc., but I plan on taking advantage of the training opportunities that Mile Two offers to its employees, like the Cognitive Systems Engineering (CSE) bootcamp with Dr. David Woods. Along with the training, I plan on spending more time with our software engineers and designers in the near future.”
“Mile Two’s culture is what drove me to join the company… Every single team member supports one another. Not only do we want our specific teams to succeed, but we thrive on seeing Mile Two succeed and are always willing to contribute where we can.”
Chris Antonik was promoted from Project Lead to Program Manager. Chris joined us in June of 2020 after working as a Digital Product Manager in Cleveland.
“Chris Antonik is a great example of ‘supported autonomy’ in practice. He is an extremely capable manager and a natural leader. Since joining Mile Two, he has taken the lead for several projects. He has developed a team of designers and developers to take a CSE approach to building software applications. Chris supports them in their learning and using their resources to solve our customers’ most difficult problems.”
“Our collaborative culture allows me to continuously learn from others with different skill sets. Better understanding of different perspectives on problems strengthens my ability to solve diverse, challenging problems and improves my ability to lead cross-functional teams.”
“[Our core values of] ‘supported autonomy’ is very important to me because it shows Mile Two has faith in me to succeed. I feel trusted to lead projects without having to provide constant justification for my decisions to leadership. And, I am empowered to seek out new opportunities to pursue my research interests and grow my own portfolio of products.”
Paul Spurlock was promoted from Associate DevOps Engineer to DevOps Engineer. He began his career at Mile Two in May of 2020.
“Paul has continued to set an example of ‘humble expertise’ while carrying out tasks on the team since joining Mile Two. He has helped to upgrade the DevOps pipelines for the company and has played an integral part in building a new classified network on base. He did a great job of learning about our DevOps environment and was extremely flexible as we brought him up to speed. All internal and external teammates have thoroughly enjoyed working with him, and I am proud of all he has accomplished this last year!”
“I hope to be able to be a core member of the Mile Two team that anyone can ask for help when they need it. [Mile Two has] the best senior leaders/mentors who encourage you to constantly try new things and never settle if something can be improved.”
“The company culture allows me to grow and work on projects that use the latest new tech that helps me stay fresh and always keep learning. Not to mention their focus on personal health has been a blessing.”
Chris Caldwell was promoted from Technical Lead to Engineering Manager. Chris has been with Mile Two since August 24, 2020.
“Chris has been a model of the type of collaboration and ‘humble expertise’ that Mile Two wants to develop in all of their leaders. Chris has distinguished himself as a leader across several successful projects, bringing out the highest performance in our Mile Two engineering staff. He also significantly aided in our adoption of Platform 1 and other new initiatives for his teams.”
“The collaboration and camaraderie among team members and between teams at Mile Two is incredible. It’s one thing to love what you do on a daily basis, but to enjoy who you do it with and who you do it for, makes all the difference in the world. That is the point where you realize you are at a place that you truly enjoy being at let alone working for. That epitomizes what Mile Two has built into the culture and I believe that is one of the major reasons they are successful!”
“All of Mile Two’s core values are important but to me. I feel that both ‘humble expertise’ and ‘success is a team effort’ have the biggest impact on me. The depth and breadth of experience in different technologies at Mile Two is very interesting to me. Seeing people reach out to others within the company to discover if there is anyone with experience in remote technology areas, and they get a response within hours from multiple people, is really cool to see. In addition to the expertise, to have the collaborative discussions we have within the teams to establish, not only what the customer has told us they want to see but what they don’t know they will want in the future, is invaluable to the customer. It allows us to fix issues before the customer is even aware of them which facilitates an even better customer experience.”
